Description:
A set of 4 maps, plus a start map, created for a map jam event held from August 1, 2023 to October 1, 2023, using the Re:Mobilize mod. Mappers were required to create maps that made use of all 3 Re:Mobilize mechanics (trampolines, wiremeshes, and lightpanels). No limits were placed on theming, but mappers were required to use the textures provided with the rm_mechanics.wad to ensure visual consistency and readability.

Installation / Playing:

Re:Mobilize Jam 1: Re:Collections requires a full (non-demo), legally purchased copy of Quake® to run. You can buy Quake through one of the following platforms:

- Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2310/Quake/
- GOG: https://www.gog.com/en/game/quake_the_offering

Additionally, Re:Mobilize requires a modern source port/engine that extends the original game's limits. Some of the maps may exceed the original 8192-unit size maximum in the original DOS release, WinQuake, and GLQuake. Furthermore, the nature of Re:Mobilize's gameplay means the player will be required to look directly or nearly directly upwards at some points (particularly when navigating using lighthooks). The original DOS release, WinQuake, and GLQuake do not support full pitch freedom, whereas most modern source ports do.

We recommend one of the following:

- Ironwail
- vkQuake
- Quakespasm
- FTE
Use other source ports at your own discretion.

Unzip the contents of rmj1.zip into your Quake folder where your game executable is located. This is a separate mod/pack of maps from the main Re:Mobilize mod, and as such should NOT be unzipped into your Re:Mobilize folder. Do NOT unzip into id1.

Make a shortcut of your main Quake source port's executable ("ironwail.exe" for Ironwail, for example), right click on it and open its properties. In the "target" box, append the following to the end of the executable path:

-game rmj1

You might also wish to rename the shortcut to "rmjam1" or similar.

When you run the game through the shortcut you made it should automatically load the Re:Mobilize Jam 1: Re:Collections mod.

NOTE:

The lighthook is bound to mouse2 by default, however you can change this binding to something else if you wish. To do this, type in the following in the console:

bind X +hook

Where X is the desired key (e.g. A, B, C, mouse2, mouse3, etc.)
