So interestingly, I think this might be the first base-type map I've actually been able to complete. I had a pretty       |
good idea of what I wanted to make, which was effectively a Quake interpretation of a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. X-Lab. In the        |
end, I decided to cross that idea with another, which was trying to adapt a particular section from Halo to create        |
this concrete/metal thing that is kind of reminiscent of both, with a bit of Metro influence thrown in on top of that.    |

The custom sounds, and the custom song used for the level, were mostly sourced from db files from the mainline            |
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, a standalone mod. The skybox is taken and converted from                |
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, mostly because I thought it would fit the vibe and I also couldn't really                | 
find a skybox that quite had the same feel to it.                                                                         |

The Story:                                                                                                                |

Site Z-374 has largely been a mystery, thought to be some folk tale told by the veteran scouts of the area, an old        |
underground bunker lost to the storms and eroded by time. After the most recent storm though, the stories of an odd       |
structure in the distance started to see a sudden rise. The science team has sent you to investigate the area which       |
a large amount of individuals seem to say where the location is. They have given you a backpack with a wide array         |
of equipment, a shotgun, and some food and drink for the travel, and want you to report back your findings, that is       |
assuming you find anything of note that is worth reporting back.                                                          |

A few days of travel later, you reach the spot and you see it through the fog, a walled off complex of some sort,         |
situated on a hill. After waiting for the fog to subside a bit, you decide to scale the wall using the climbing gear      |
which was part of the issued equipment. On the other side of the wall, you see a few buildings, one residential           |
and one unknown (presumably the facility's entrance), a gate of some sort, and some sort of giant drain or                |
some kind of vent (you aren't really sure which).                                                                         |

You needed a better vantage point on one of the things inside the wall, so you decided to move along the wall to          |
try to get a better spot. Trying to round a corner, you lose your footing and fall off. Luckily for you, you landed in    |
what appears to be a patch of dead grass among the dirt, with your issued shotgun by your side. Quite unluckily,          |
you landed on the wrong side of the wall, inside the complex, with the rest of your equipment either still sat on         |
the wall, or fallen onto the other side.                                                                                  |

Your main goal at this point is to get out of this facility. You see a door, but it is locked and seems to require        |
some sort of advanced keycard to leave. There's not much here on the surface, just some dogs and some weird thing flying  |
around the residential building. It is clear that the only way to go is down, into the facility's depths, to try and      |
find the advanced keycard so you can get out.                                                                             |
