I'd told myself I would under no circumstances interrupt work on my episode to get involved in side projects, but this jam was too good to pass up; it was only a week and fell immediately after I'd paused work on rje2m3. E1M2-E1M4 was the theme, which was fresh in my head after working on Dimension of the Fused and it had been many years since I'd had a go at creating an original layout. I also wanted to test my ability in knocking out a complete map in a short timespan, and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way.
I was mostly happy with the result; it's visually consistent with well-balanced gameplay and a non-linear layout that tested players' navigational skills. One key bridge was poorly marked, which served as the lesson, although my main critcism would be general lack of creativity. Whilst it was very true-to-theme, it achieved this by being rather derivative of the original maps, whereas most others in the pack were more liberal with the theme and came up with some interesting takes.
