* Description *

When I think of Quake the first levels that come to mind for me are the medival swamp levels from the first episode. This map is sort of an homage to that with a bit of a twist (red skybox!) and a bit more detail that you would expect from the original maps. I added a bunch of traps and spawns as well because that never gets old.
I'm especially pleased with how the last trap turned out (it's an E2M5 homage!). One thing I would have improved given the time, was the fight after the gold key door and the acid filled pipe. The areana is a bit flat but I was running out of time and had to commit to an idea. Originally I was going to have a Romero lift but it's a trick I've used a couple times in other maps so wanted to mix things up a little. Another thing of note, before blocking out the map I made a room full of prefabs to use in the map (this is included in the .map file so feel free to use them). This will probably be my last release for a while since the Summer is coming and I'll be spending a lot more time outdoors touching grass. I plan on getting out with the bike and doing a lot of running outside over the summer. In my spare time I'm slowly chipping away at a vanilla episode I've been working on for a long while so keep an eye out for that.
